About doBid
The Houston marketplace where home services get bid, not quoted.
doBid is a two-sided marketplace connecting Houston-area homeowners with local pros for non-license-required home services — junk removal, house cleaning, painting, landscaping, handyman work, moving help, and more. Homeowners post a job free; local pros submit competing fixed-price bids; payment is held in escrow and released only when the work is done right.
doBid is operated by Maddox Ventures LLC and serves the greater Houston, Texas metro. It is not a lead-generation site: pros pay nothing to bid, homeowners pay nothing to post, and the platform earns a fee only when a job is completed and paid through escrow.
How doBid works

Post a job
A homeowner describes the work, adds photos, and sets a timeline. Posting is free, and the street address stays private — bidding pros see only the zip code.
- 2.
Pros bid
Local pros review the scope and submit fixed-price bids. The homeowner compares prices, ratings, reviews from completed jobs, and each pro's profile side by side.
- 3.
Escrow funds the job
When a bid is accepted, the payment is captured into escrow through Stripe. The hired pro sees the full address; the money is protected for both sides.
- 4.
Work gets done
The pro completes the job and uploads after-photos. The homeowner gets a 72-hour window to review the work.
- 5.
Payment releases
The homeowner releases the escrow — or opens a dispute with photo evidence if something is wrong. Reviews can only be left on completed jobs.
